Nickolay (Nick) Varbanov, RMT
Registered Massage Therapist
Nick became a registered massage therapist after successfully completing the Registered Massage Therapy program at Centennial College. Nick has been involved in Olympic Weightlifting from the age of 10, and has been working as a weightlifting coach and personal trainer for the last 4 years. This has helped him understand and help the struggles of athletes, assess and treat day to day personal injuries and establish an efficient and effective treatment plan for his clients.
Nick’s treatment philosophy revolves around finding the cause of the presenting condition, addressing and alleviating the continuous discomforts brought on, and establishing a treatment plan to maintain and progress his clients physical health. In order to achieve the best results, he uses a variety of different assessment tools ranging from functional range of motion assessment, to applying special orthopedic tests for specific injuries. This allows Nick to pick out the most useful techniques for the condition at hand, and provide a safe and effective treatment.
During treatment, Nick likes to use deep tissue techniques such as stripping through muscles, eliminating trigger points and using active release techniques. The implementation of different modalities such as cups, massage guns and hot/cold packs is also something he likes to do in treatment to maximize results. Although Nick specializes in working with athletes, he also very much enjoys helping people have a heightened sense of overall well-being through his massage treatments.
On his spare time, Nick enjoys to train Olympic Weightlifting in hopes of pursuing his dreams 35 ollow in his father’s footsteps, and participate at the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games as part of Team Canada. Not only does he work towards his personal goals, but he helps to lead and coach a competitive team at Varbanov School of Weightlifting, where he helps aspiring athletes reach their true potential and personal milestones.
